 Business Meeting for All and Annual Dinner Banquet

Ron Zimmerman officially retired as President of the USS Great Sitkin (AE-17) Association. Sitkin shipmates bestowed on Ron the title of President Emeritus, in recognition of the fantastic job he did in leading our group for the past 16 years.

DJ Jon of City Sounds Entertainment provided the entertainment during our annual dinner banquet. We had a grand time! Even the DJ couldn’t contain himself. We saw him on the dance floor right along with the rest of us. Celebrations were in order too! Karen Ripple’s birthday with cake and congratulations to Ron & Vera Campa who were celebrating their 56^th wedding anniversary.

Sunday, September 18th

 Farewell Breakfast

Our farewell breakfast – time to say goodbye. Again, there were lots of hugs, handshakes, and a few tears.

A great big “thank you” goes to George & Mary Kaiser for hosting the 2016 Sitkin Reunion in NJ. We looked forward to visiting MOTBY one day where the USS Great Sitkin moored. We did it! It was wonderful! See you next September in Buffalo, New York.
