Friday - September 19th, U.S. Air Force Museum, Dayton Ohio & Memorial Service

Friday morning we boarded the coaches for a trip up the road to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.  Our first stop at the base was the hanger containing the Presidential plane collection.  From there we toured the huge hangers that contained war planes and experimental planes from WWI through the cold war and Desert Storm eras.  After the tours we went to the Basel Chapel where Chaplain Rucker conducted the Memorial Service honoring those shipmates that have departed us since our last reunion.  The ceremony was capped off with the playing of Taps by shipmate George Kaiser using our own ceremonial bugle.
